Keto Party Sandwiches, Heck yeah! Keto Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders are the perfect party food. Hawaiian rolls stuffed with ham and cheese and brushed with a buttery Dijon, onion and poppy seed topping baked to perfection. It’s Keto comfort food, and I can hardly wait to share this recipe with you.
This is basically two recipes in one! Keto Hawaiian rolls are amazing on their own but transformed into Keto Baked Ham and Cheese sliders they are over the top delicious! The Keto Hawaiian rolls are naturally grain-free, wheat-free, low carb and keto. Everyone loves it, even unsuspecting carb lovers.
Making Keto Hawaiian Rolls…
First things first the rolls. This is a variation of fat head dough. Start off by putting mozzarella and cream cheese into a large glass bowl. Microwave the party sandwiches in 30-second intervals until cheese is completely melted.
In a separate bowl combine almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, grated parmesan cheese, and sweetener (I use monk fruit) and stir to combine.
When the cheese is melted, add the dry ingredients and mix. Once almost fully combined add the eggs and melted butter, continue mixing until all incredients are kneaded together and smooth. (Trick here worth mentioning, I use my freshly washed hands to knead the dough and get it fully combined).
Separate the dough into 12 sections and roll into balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Whisk the egg white and brush the rolls with the egg white. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350° or until rolls turn light golden.
Making the Party Sandwiches…
While the rolls are cooling, you have time to mix up the topping. In a bowl combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and onion powder. Whisk to combine and set aside.
Once the Hawaiian rolls are cool enough to handle, begin slicing them in half and fill them with ham and cheese. Next, place the sandwiches in a baking dish, and brush the sandwiches with the topping, use it all!
Place the Keto Baked Ham and Cheese sliders back in the oven for 15 minutes, remove and they are ready to serve!
Tips and Tricks…
If you are making Hawaiian rolls to serve as rolls, I recommend adding an additional 5-10 minutes to the cook time for the rolls. The rolls will not be going back into the oven they need this additional time to cook fully.
The dough for the rolls is tricky to work with, I recommend using your hands to incorporate the ingredients at the end. With washed hands make sure the dough mixture has cooled enough to handle. The dough will stick to your hands. If the dough is too hot you will burn your hands!
I use a basting brush twice when making these, for the egg white on the rolls and topping on the sandwiches. A silicone brush in the kitchen is such a great tool and relatively inexpensive. Find one like mine here.
I prefer provolone cheese inside the sandwich, however swiss also a great option with the ham.
Use ultra fine almond flour in this recipe for a smooth bread-like roll. I use THIS brand.
Keto Ham and Cheese sliders are great leftover. Reheat for about 20 seconds in the microwave. They make a great next day lunch!
