Italian Pinwheels with Grinder Salad Dip is perfect for parties, an after school snack or a quick meal. I feel like they should be called disappearing Pinwheels in my house and they are always gone in a flash!
How to make Italian Pinwheels:
Making Italian Pinwheels with Grinder Salad dip starts with the Base using a burrito wrap or extra large Tortilla to hold all the layers together. Next add a creamy layer of cream cheese. We do simple cream cheese but you could use your favorite flavored cream cheese. Onion and Chive would be a good option. Another option is to mix in Italian seasoning, garlic powder or some red pepper flakes for some added zip!
Next are your meaty layers, thinly sliced salami and pepperoni are laid in the wrap. You could add other meats you would typically get in a sub. Ham would be a great addition (but my kids prefer the simplicity of Salami and Pepperoni.
Then roll it up, tightly to create a spiral of flavor, slice into bit -sized pinwheels. Place them on a baking sheet spritz or brush with a light layer of olive oil. Bake at 350 until golden.
This is my favorite baking sheet for almost everything! Here
How to make Grinder Salad Dip:
Next up is the Grinder Salad Dip. Is it really a dip, I don’t know if you can call it that but it pairs perfectly with the pinwheels.
To make the Grinder Salad Dip finely chop up iceberg lettuce. Then add chopped, banana peppers, finely diced red onion, black olives, and tomato. Dressing is a combo of equal parts Italian Dressing and Mayo – I even add a splash of Red Wine Vinegar. Other optional add ins are crumbled bacon or parmesan cheese.
Serve it up:
Ready, set eat… Arrange pinwheels on a platter with the grinder salad dip for a party-friendly setup. Scoop up the dip on or along side the pinwheels for a perfect bit of creamy, crunchy, and savory deliciousness.
