With premade flaky pie dough, cookie cutters, and your favorite toppings, you can create a delightful, Valentine’s treat that’s both fun to make and delicious to eat.

How to make Easy Valentine’s Pizza Pockets…
You only need a few things, Pie crust, I use the premade to keep it easy, but you could make your own if you prefer. A heart shaped cookie cutter, your favorite pizza toppings, a fork to crimp them closed, and pizza sauce for dipping. Here is a link to the cookie cutters, I use (inexpensive, and 5 different sizes)
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Use your heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out and even number of hearts from your pie crusts. Place the bottom half on a parchment lined baking sheet. Add you chosen toppings onto the heart, being careful not to overfill, as this can cause the pockets to burst open while baking. Place another heart-shaped crust over the toppings. Press down with fingers then use a fork to press and seal the edges together. This not only crimps the edges but also adds a decorative touch. Brush the top of each pizza pocket with egg wash or Heavy Whipping Cream(optional). This give the pockets a beautiful golden color and slight shine when baked. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the crust is cooked through.
Once baked, let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with a side of pizza sauce for dipping.

Tips and Tricks…
You can use Heavy Cream as an alternative to egg wash. Using heavy cream results in that light golden color and sheen but less browning.
Be sure to let your pre-made pie crust come to room temp before unrolling it to prevent tears.
If you are using homemade pie crust you will want to dough rolled out to about ¼ inch for the best texture.
Use your favorite pizza toppings. Our kid’s favorites are Pepperoni and Hawaiian pizza pockets. My favorite includes chicken, garlic cloves, blue cheese and BBQ sauce for dipping!
Be careful not to overfill the pockets with toppings, as this can cause the pockets to burst open while baking.
The leftover crust scraps never go to waste in our house. We make Roly-Poly. Simply press your scraps together and roll them out. Next spread a thin layer of softened butter onto the dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and roll them up into bite size little twirls. They don’t have to be fancy. Finally bake them at 375 degrees until golden and you have the perfect little dessert bites and no waste!
